Iceland PM gets inspired by work of Art of Living

New Delhi, June 25:  Art of Living founder and global spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar was welcomed by Iceland Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson in Reykjavi, where he discussed the importance of mental health and social well-being.

The meeting focused on the current state of peace in Europe, the need to address mental health issues and the importance of putting individual benefits at the core of social prosperity.

Sri Sri spoke about the work of the Art of Living Foundation here, which uses time-tested meditation and breathing techniques to help people get rid of stress and anxiety, and ensure the overall physical and mental well-being of people.

He also spoke about how the Art of Living is rehabilitating prisoners and criminal gang members in Denmark with the ‘Breathe Smart’ program to reduce violence and drug addiction among criminals. Through this, inner peace and a sense of caring for each other is being promoted among such violent people.

In the meeting, the Art of Living founder also praised Prime Minister Benediktsson for Iceland’s contribution in tackling climate change. It is worth mentioning that almost 100% of Iceland’s electricity generation comes from renewable sources.

Sri Sri visited Iceland after attending a United Nations event in Geneva. After this, he is scheduled to visit the United States for public events.
